Martina Havelková

The Martina Havelková Racing yard is located in Prague in Velká Chuchle in the area of the Chuchle Arena Prague. The venue is 15 minutes from Wenceslas Square in the centre of Prague and 15 minutes from Václav Havel Airport. The D1 and D5 motorway routes are easily accessible from the yard for easy access to racecourses in the Czech Republic or abroad.

Martina Havelková

Born on 28 May 1985 in Zlín. She inherited her love for horses apparently from her grandfather and has been sitting in the saddle since she was nine years old. After winning her first race on a pony, she started dreaming of a professional racing career. In 2000, she entered the Secondary School of Horse Racing and Equestrian Sports in Prague. In 2001, she stood at the start of a race for the first time and her first victory meant that her childhood dream became a reality.

She gained a lot of experience during several years of working in racing yard with leading trainers such as František Holčák (for 9 years) and Josef Váňa (for 2 years).

From 2012, Martina worked in Prague’s Velká Chuchle in the yard of trainer Tomáš Šatra for three years and then for two years with Igor Endaltsev, who then went to train in Chantilly, France. Martina got her trainer’s license in 2018 and since then she has been working as a racehorse trainer in the Chuchle Arena Prague.

Martina studied at the Secondary School of Horse Racing and Equestrian Sports in 2015 – 2017 and, after passing her school-leaving exam, continued to study at the Czech University of Agriculture in Prague in 2018 – 2020, where she obtained her Bachelor's degree.

Martina has daughter Viktoria and son Štěpán.

The Boruvka mare

In her first year as a trainer (2018), Martina also won her first victory as a trainer with a Boruvka, which was bought for EUR 1,200 at an Irish auction as a yearling. Martina is an experienced horse rider with a hands-on approach to training. She does not come from a horse racing family, but she was literally raised with horses and knows that training racehorses is what she wants to do.
